I'm not a huge vette fan, I don't hate them (if anything, hate their typical owner, it isn't the cars fault).
Either way, I think it's sad to see historical items of any sort lost forever. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

There must be some connection between being a douche and owning a douchey car
Most guys i have met/seen the the cool older one (pre 70) are not really that bad
But just about everyone who owns a newer one seem to be a total douchebag
Btw if there was any make of post 70's cars that got wreck iit really wouldn't be any bad loss _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

I thought the poll was amusing:
Q: Do you think more people will visit the National Corvette Museum after the sinkhole collapse?
Yes
No _________________ 1968 Beetle

That sucks indeed regardless of what kind of cars they were, I'm not a fan of most Corvette owners but some of the cars themselves are still fairly badass and intriguing, I wouldn't buy one but I'd sure give a free one a good long test drive.
Interesting, freaky and a little odd that it chose to open up right in the middle of a display hall and just eat the cars without taking the building too, maybe mother nature has had her fill of iron oxide from all our VW's and wants to sample some polyester for a change of diet? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Workers were notified before dawn when the motion detector system went off.
And a few miles down the road is Mammoth Caves. Hmmmmm, I wonder if there is a connection? _________________ Prosit!

And apparently the ZR1 they pulled out still runs. Very cool.
Now, the question will be, do you restore or build copies of these cars, or display the crushed ones? I think if it's truly a historically significant car, display it in it's crushed glory. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

From the article: "Although the museum is a privately-run, non-profit organization, General Motors has pledged to repair the cars damaged in the accident." _________________ Brian

i don't know hwy it's surprising that the cars are cranking over easily. it's not like they were in the bottom of a lake or anything. they fell down a hole.
but as said all but i think 1 are 80s/90s/00s so nothing exciting missing anyhow. not that i think many vettes are exciting but deff anything post early 70s is pretty much out. they do make good donors for powertrain and suspension for hot rod though ...ken..... _________________ ITMC
