Hi guys,

I recently installed the Bosch SR-17 Starter(self supporting Starter-Automatic Model beetle starter) in my bug. After a while,It wouldn't just turn.On taking it to the repair shop ,they told me the pin that enables the bendex to push out had broken.Apparently this is pretty common.

Sadly,In my part of the world, spares for this type of starter are rare or non existent at the moment.Could anyone tell me an excellent long lasting mod that I can carry out on this starter to get it running again?

Thank you in advance.

How about having a local machine shop make another pin?
