I'm told all the "American style" seals are made in Taiwan and are not high quality. Has anyone used them? I really don't want to lose my window trim. But, I don't want cheap seals either. |

Is it possible to install a new headliner without removing windows? I'm trying to decide if I should hold off on installing my windows until the headliner is in. |

I finally found a nice rear seat support. Do these get welded in? And, if so, is it just on the tunnel? Mine was removed and severely rusted so I didn't get a chance to see it. |

maybe a dumb question, but my searches didn't find an answer.
When installing bumpers, do you put the bracket on the bumper, then mount to the car? Or, does it matter? |

If the brackets are straight, I find it easier to mount the brackets to the bumper then mount to the car (using either a friend or a box to hold the other side up). |

i put the brackets on and sat the bumper on it to see how straight it was. They were extremely bent. At some point someone tried to lift this car by its bumper. I have the bumper "straightened" so now that i think i have the brackets close. I guess i will try and mount them on the bumper and then mount it to the car.
I wish I had taken some pictures of how it was mounted to the bracket, i need some new bolts also, i broke a couple.
Thanks. |

im trying to get my windshield out and the front seal is so old and hard i cant cut it. And, I can't get the window to come out. When a seal is hard and you can't cut it what else can I do?
Is their a way to soften the seal at all? Or, do i just have to keep trying to push out the windshield, I am afraid i may break the glass.
Any suggestions? |

sometimes you can spray a little varsol or that type of solvent to loosen the rubber from the glass. There is a good chance that some previous had put sealer around to stop the leaky windshield. |

I'd be careful getting solvent near the edge of the windshield, else you might end up with cloudy white edges. _________________ Air does not freeze. Air does not boil.

Super sharp blade to cut the inner seal side is your best bet. |

I finally got it cut out! The area is amazingly dry. Obviously my dash is cracked bad. Is this the time I take that out? Or can that be done after I reinstall the windshield?

I figured. Since it's near impossible to find a dash, how hard is it to reinstall if the windshield is in? And, do the gauges come out with the dash? Or, are they separate? |

It's not as easy, but still possible, to install the dash with the windshield in.
An offset screwdriver comes in handy, unless you want to strip the slots on the screws.
Take the gauges out before you remove the dash. You'll have to reach around the dash and squeeze the tabs to push the gauges out.
Also, pull the backside of the fuel gauge off. _________________ 1988 Ford Festiva L

Thank you! What is everyone doing to fix/replace the dash? |

Super happy today, I got my new windshield seal and trim on. Both went very easy. However, as I was placing on the two clips that hold the trim pieces together. I cracked my windshield right down the middle! It was just carelessness only part. I'm so damn pissed I can barely see straight!
