I started documenting the 1969 Trunk Liner, factory original........

Not as simple as it initially appears! Curved cuts, multiple fold points, multiple angles, holes......... Sheesh!

Anyway, some photos........... It's a spare moment work in progress!

As it came out of the trunk in Frozen Early March ........

Weighted down with Plywood and laundry soap to lie flat!......

Much appreciated DJ,
You're right, it looks a lot simpler than it is.
A bunch of us needed to see these pics. Maybe I'll just spend the hunny and buy one.
I just wish they made them out of something better than that cardboard.

The more I touch this 35 year old chunk of dried out cardboard, the more fragile it becomes!

It is literally falling apart like an ancient Dead Sea Scroll!

Traced onto cardboard........ I need to piece on the front area that folds down by the spare tire.......

Nominal size 42"x52"

Curious, the only prescored folding points are the black lines I drew.
The fold against the dash and up the sides was more of a simple press in fit as it was installed, no score marks, just bent cardboard.

Here is a 69 survivor (NOT my car) showing the liner installed. I'm curious about that piece behind the spare tire.
Did they have a piece hiding the spare I wonder?

Nope..... From my 69 owners manual.........

LOL, Dead Sea Scroll - Yep, that's why there's GOT to be a better material
we can make these with, maybe even make it with something to soundproof
a little since every little bit helps ?

I'm in Brother, pm me the cost and I'll mail or paypal you the scratch.
I really appreciate this and I'm sure others will too.

I think I'm going to use 1/8" Black Corroplastic with some non-flammable
sound backing of some sort for mine.

Don't know if this helps anyone, but pic is of OG liner 1970 model year. I presume the folds at the front are orientated correctly? Seem to be to make it into more of a 'tray'.

Looking for a 48" paper roll, 36" are easy to find! I even have a roll in the house!

I may just end up taping an extension onto the 36" for the patterns!

Dave- I would love to have a trace of the trace too. I'm afraid you may have a lot of takers so maybe an option is to take a tracing to a local copy or print shop and have several full-size copies made. I am more than happy to pay for costs plus whatever you think is fair for your time, as I'm sure everybody else is. Thanks so much. Adam

Hmmmm ....... I'm happy to help!
Hate to incur too much expense in making copies.
I'm not in this for profit and trying to keep expenses as low as possible.

I'll check with Staples, see how big of copies they can make.

Or, if you can post the tracing as a .pdf, people could download it and use the "poster" option in Adobe Reader to print it out on multiple sheets of paper and tape it together.

I have access to a large-scale scanner so if I get a copy of the tracing, I can post it as a pdf.

I once heard an older person (a writer who wrote in long-hand) say that he was a "digital immigrant". Me too, I'm afraid. But I'd like a copy of your template too, please. Pay by Paypal?
