Thanks again for al the help. The bus is finally painted! Neptune blue. Really happy with the color. Weird to have a freshly painted bus in my small work place after al these years. Before i was never that worried about scratching it. Now i don't even dare come close.
The guy who painted it was a real saint. He did al lot of extra work for nothing extra. A small list of al the stuff he did extra:
Sand and paint the whole inside!
The seams at the back of the car were gone. He got them back.
Welded my rear engine lid/rear cargo hatch/sliding door trim (he found some small holes)
Fixed some dents in my dash
And the price we agreed upon was already low. About half the price of other painters i spoke to.
Next week he's gone spray my friend t2b as well.
And some friends of mine are thinking of taking there cars/mopeds to him. Here's the result. (sorry for the quality of the pictures)

My 1973 bus is Orient Blue...here are a few pictures of a single stage repaint of some areas. The rotted out battery tray was removed and a new one welded in, and I re-sprayed the engine compartment while the engine was out at the same time I sprayed the repair area. The PPG paint was a good match up, and done by catalogue numbers. The rest of the bus had been rattle canned, but the new paint was a dead-on match for the untouched area under the license plate on the engine compartment hatch. There is some orange peel, and I need to cut and polish it, but I put the lights in for the photographs. Sorry it's not in direct sunlight!

This is beautiful! I checked a local paint store by sending the color code and for a gallon with hardener/activator comes to about $460.
Was it any cheaper to get a napa paint match? |

Man I miss the 90’s. This is a picture of my first Bus back in 1996, a ‘77 sunroof. Got it for free. I remember it had like-new interior. It was blue so I figured it’s relevant.
