Hi, I just wanted to share my build. I think it's unique and most people seem to enjoy hearing about it so here it is.
It's a 1969 Bug that was in pretty bad shape. When I started removing seats and carpets I noticed a lot of rust and some previous hack jobs so I started thinking what else I could do with what I had and ended up with this in my head.

this is before I started chopping:

Not gonna lie. When I started looking at the pictures of the chopping, all I could think was "What the fuck is this guy doing? What an idiot."
But I gotta say, I love the way it's taking shape. Badass!
Is this the vision you had in mind from the beginning? Or did it just happen on the fly?

I am an Industrial Designer and love out of the box thinking. That bug is your art form. Love it!! Some guys go to Car Shows and love the Shiny cars, actually I do too, but --- I love Rat Rods, that is real art. My bug is clean but unusual. It is a 74, I went to early wider fenders to us the early head lights with 1956 Porsche 356 Grilles, Wider rear fenders with Flat tail lights.. The license plate was removed and put under my Cali Style Spliced Bumpers, ( Cali Style –me Joe Cali ). Those were the big 74 bumpers I slices 1” out of the middle and over lapped the pieces. I is running a Porsche 914 2.0 I made into my first Upright Conversion. Dual Dells, and special Stainless Steel Porsche Exhaust from the UK.
Dropped front spindles 2 ½” and 195 50 15 on the front and 195 60 15 on the rear, 4 wheel discs, front and rear anti sway bars. Stainless steel floors, the inside dash is all hand made.

1969 Western Turbine wheels BTY I like your wheels!!!!!! LED head lights!!

I had actually had envisioned it in my head. I tried to draw it a few times but I suck at it. When my friend came over to help me I had a hard time showing him what my idea was. At the end it came out just the way I wanted.
Thanks

I was able to get some really cool Bomber seats. I'll take some pictures and post when I get a chance.

I usually hate chop jobs, but I really like this. The repurposing of "surplus" parts really makes it. Are you a 91E or something?

You also need a bumper number... My OIC and I keep trying to convince the Colonel to give my bus a bumper number and let our section use it in the field.
