Got a feeling this will be a great show. My Bay Pride Ride will be left behind, but I'll be there vending. Lots of Bay stuff

Do you have to pre-register to drive the track on Sat? _________________ Home of the Annual Simple Transport Air Cooled shows!

FYI: The Track has cancelled the laps for Saturday Sept 6th due to the weather and safety reasons.
The cruise is still on from Winner VW to the airplane museum!!!! We will be leaving from the Dealership located @ 1387 N Dupont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901, and will depart at 2 PM.
Sorry for any inconvenience but it was not up to us, we attempted alternatives with no avail.
Thank you for your understanding.

The tape deck isn't workin on my boom box but I'll bring some tapes for others to blast.
Bummer on the track, but I'm sure they'll be plenty of other fun to be had.

Wow I totally spaced out on this one. I've been thinking the show is next weekend. Gotta see if I can still pull this off somehow. _________________ 66 Sedan L456 "Ramona" |

Ugh, I'm gonna have to skip out this time. Between my kids' sports today, the weather tonight, and I have to travel on Monday... too much stuff going on. Sucks, I was hoping to catch this show.
Catch you all next time. _________________ 66 Sedan L456 "Ramona" |

I changed my mind this morning and drove out for the event (sadly in my DD, not my Beetle) and I'm glad I did. What a great first-year event. Everything seemed well-organized and the DJ was great. Thanks to all the organizers and registrants for an awesome show.
I took some photos of the air-cooled rides and uploaded them to my flickr account. Once I have a chance to download them from my phone I'll upload them to the Samba gallery.

I thought it was a good first time effort, was well organized, lots of room and easy to get to. I met a lot of great V dub people, some very local to me, got some great leads and tips. I hope it gets some traction and grows, I'd like to see more venders and swappers, and more from the water cooled / Vanagon tribes, but I'm not complaining. Great assortment of Bugs, Splitties and Bays. got me thinking about dragging the '67 bug out of the barn for next year's event. _________________ 67 Bug, currently in hibernation

Off to a great start!
Between this one, Simple Transport, and Raid on the Bay at Sandy Point late Sept., us marylander's are getting spoiled with a month of local gatherings.
Sure does cut down on the travel expenses.....
Just an insight, but if ALL of the cars that attend each of the events came together all at once, we'd fill those venues like the good old days.... |

I wish that were the case for central Marylanders. Fortunately I don't live too far from Gettysburg so I can hit most of the PA shows without an excessive amount of driving, but I would love to see an event somewhere in the Frederick-Baltimore-DC triangle.
Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that we have a healthy Mid-Atlantic series of shows, but at least once a year it would be nice to have a local. _________________ 66 Sedan L456 "Ramona" |
