Dick Lee driving Bert Junker's Bug. It was named "Joanie's Mink" because Bert's wife Joanie did not get the mink coat because the money was spent on the car instead. REAL nice folks. They were always pleasant in Tech Inspection.

This was about the best prepped Baja Bug of its day and was certainly the MOST successful. It won a great many races in several race organizations. It had some interesting innovations, such as the secondary torsions on the front beam made from Type 3 front torsion bars mounted in the open above the top tube of the beam. Also note the toe situation in the pic from bump steer.

I've stood my race car and a couple of Baja Bugs on their noses like that, in fact a whole lot higher, a time or 12. It gets spooky when all you can see through the windshield is the ground racing past.

I could see doing this with a triple barrel spud gun on top, a super soaker up front.

I definitely will do the jerry can thing.
