Well, I was going to whale tails, but I didn't want to offend... Wink

Actually nothing except neglect, and then I don't like the owner, still like the car.

Slammed stuff that looks like its broke. That just makes no sense to me.

Fake patina. Why the heck would you want to make a nice car look like like a rusty POS? Those of us who have and drive actual rusty POS cars would rather have nice looking shiney cars, so that doesn't make sense to me.

Half assed hack jobs.

At a lot of the Porsche events I go to we have started telling the 911 owners our uncle had one just like that but his had a VW engine in it.
Some get the joke, but most try to convince us he had a 912 and not a 911.

Mainly the attitudes of some owners that a bug later than a 64 is junk while his oval is 12 volt, running a 1600 and on an IRS pan. Laughing

Trailer queens that never see the road and will barely run.

Would normally say trailer queens, but saw an absolutley amazing car last year that changed that.

The big thing for me on a resto is hanging every freaking accessorie known to man on an otherwise really nice car.

Nothing bothers me any more. It's nice to just see people enjoying the hobby. It's just a car, after all. Last weekend a guy in a 50-something Vette convertible tooted and waved at me in my Beetle, even though his car was worth at least 10 of mine. That's what the hobby is about.

1.Narrowed beams, cars look like shopping carts
2.Tinted windows
3. cool rims and big engines on rusty buckets (specially busses)
4.Old guys on slammed VW's (we may have looked cool when we were 25, not anymore)
5.Owner claiming the original color of their car, when not even 10% of the car is original paint.

Phewwww! that was a lot off my chest!

Tubbed, lowered buses, especially splits. It just looks totally retarded. Buses are big, slow, cumbersome vehicles. Lowering them is just silly and childish to me. Also 'custom' steering wheels on beetles that are smaller than stock. "Hey, let's make this car 10 times harder to steer and look stupid!" Also I hate all fiberglass buggys with homemade wiring. Every wire is autozone pink and looks like a bowl of neon spaghetti. And buggy brakes always suck too.

Painted-over seals / grommets.. and little parts such as windshield washer sprayer or latches.
Budget paint jobs are understandable, but, it only takes moments to pop out most seals. Or take better time masking latches you don't want to remove.

*to clarify, I'm not pointing out flaws on anyone's car. I was meaning that painting over removable items can be a chore if a part ever needs replacing. (plus some rubber parts don't hold paint up well.. starts chipping off, etc).
My post was meant to be taken as advice when repainting your car.
