I recently lucked out and found a really good looking 1300 long block (Or what appears to be anyways). Square boss heads 113s, longer cylinders etc. Zero end play, clean looking spark plug, turns over with lots of compression, heads look great, oil was very clean and the screen looked brand new!
I've found a vented shroud, most of the tin and the right intake manifold.
Any suggestions for carb, dizzy, muffler, other mods to get this thing running at optimum HP?
I'm hoping to keep it affordable and simple and possibly just a temporary engine while I build a boneville 36 or true vintage speed 40hp. |

Even though you have a stock single-carb manifold, how about building the 1300 up to look like this?
Friend from work had a 1500 in parts; had it built to look old speed with Weber 34ICTs, 36hp air cleaners, no bling tin, and stock internals. He did not install it yet, but it was test run and jetted by the builder. |
