Pulled it down with a 1/4 chisel, hammer map gas torch and needle nose pliers..the ends are tarred and crimped on,the front had one light spot weld..the inner rear cover had one light spot weld as well..the rest was just guiding the chisel gently around the covers to loosen it and heat from the map torch to beak the tar..the media drum is held together with small galvanized hog rings,I had no choice but to do this one,a mouse had made it home..reckon the new plastic media will improve the efficiency over the stock jute..going to replace the pull cord with a chainsaw pull start cord.Any questions?.. |

I would have never guessed that they are held together with roofing tar.
And one question------do you have a favorite brand of tar to use for reassembly ? |

Ooh, that's bitchin'. I like the name best. I imagine if someone asked me what brand it was I would have to say it slowly in an excellent Ricardo Montalban accent. Paint it with that gold spray chrome!
