Just about to reinstate my new window seals complete with chrome beading.

Any tips on adding chrome;

1. Instal chrome to window rubber prior to fitting to body or after?
2. How to add joining chrome piece?
3. Oval piece does join go at top or bottom?

All hints and tips needed please.

Thanks,

1) Fit seal to glass. Fit Chrome to seal. Fit assembly to body

2) The Aluminum joining trim has a small tab on one edge. This fits under the Chrome trim. Then, with a twisting motion, push the clip down into the groove of the seal.

3) ???

You can use a string in the channel in the rubber where the chrome trim fits to help seat and guide the trim as you insert it, much the same as you use string to fit the windows to the body when installing the glass. Cuts the job in half or more.

The 3rd part of your question isn't very clear, but my take on it is that you are asking where the rubber seal joint is situated? On the original rubbers, the joint was on a slant: / and is one way you can see if the rubbers have been replaced or not, as the the later ones are straight l butt jointed at 90 degress.

Make sure the joints are at the highest point (eg Rear Window on the top in the middle) so as to minimise the ingress of water if the seal isn't 100% watertight.
