Found this in Hawaii. Was stored in a warehouse in California about 20 years before being shipped to Hawaii where it sat for about another 6 years or so. Odometer reads 33k miles. Solid body and pans.

Don't know how true the mileage is but by the condition of the car it seems to hold true.

That is not rust in the bottom of the doors. It's red dirt from Kaua'i.

What a find. I usually like nice paint jobs, but this car must never be allowed near a pain gun! Get some front bumpers, brush and seal the surface rust, and roll it! Congratulations!

Seems like a lot of wear on the steering wheel. Too much for 33,000 miles. But still, awesome find.

Not sure but I think it's brake fluid. The reservoir is empty. Could be a combination of both. Just got the car running again. Anyone knows how difficult it is to run new brake and Fuel lines or if there's a link on how to do it?Thanks

There's no special trick to the brakes. Just buy the hard and soft lines and replace them. Removing the gas tank makes it easier. I'd replace the master cylinder and check for leaking/stuck wheel cylinders.

The steel fuel line runs inside the tunnel. I'd replace the soft lines under the tank and above the transmission using new German hose.

And did Slimwonder say something? I missed it. Very Happy

Sandblasted and painted the wheels. Bought new hubcaps. Found a practically new front bumper, two small dings and replaced the entire brake system from front to back.

Thanks for the comments. It's the correct bumpers. The front and rear aprons has the extra holes above the bumper bracket slots. If you look at the picture without the front bumper you can see the extra holes. I have the wiper arms but I took them off in fear of scratching the windshield cause the rubber is deteriorating. I also have new Wolfsburg west running boards but I need to bend the body down where they somehow over jacked it.

This car has the correct US spec bumpers. 55-57 US spec cars had bullet turn signals and towel rail bumpers instead of the euro blades and semaphores alot of other countries got...

I wonder if this is the original license plate frame? Looks old and weathered enough to be.

Nice find! I have one same color. To replace the brake fuel and clutch cable tubes there is a thread with great instructions here. Though not impossible it is a pain. All clips holding tubes are accessible via pedal assembly opening, shifter assmbley opeing and tranny tunnel opening under rear seat. No cutting required. One thing I would add to the thread about replacing these tubes is to go to tractor-farm-building supply store and buy wire or fish tape and insert into the tube that is being replaced and secure. This makes install of replacement very easy!
