BBXXI Info:
Hello, my name is Robert Kennedy. I will be taking over the Bulli Brigade show this year and I am looking forward to the November trek to South West Florida. First a huge thanks is in order to the previous organizers of Bulli Brigade and the countless people who have selfishly volunteered and worked tirelessly over the last 20 years to make this annual event such a success.
Although stressed with the short notice of the “changing of hands” and the quickly approaching event, much has been accomplished.
There have been some immediate changes in location due to an unfortunate wore out welcome (for numerous reasons) at the county park, Fort De Soto. Location availabilities had been the biggest challenge and delay in getting information out but that is behind us. The new location is as follows:
Location: Quaker Steak & Lube
10400 49th St N, Clearwater, FL 33762
http://thelube.com/locations/florida/pinellas-park-clearwater/
I have recently been to the location, walked the property, and met several other adjoining business owners who are excited about us rolling into the area.
Quaker Steak & Lube will be a great backdrop for the event and the owner has graciously offered to open early specifically for us. The venue, as seen from the web link, offers many opportunities not afforded us in years past with food and beverage being the most notable. With that being said, it is a parking lot show and although it has 300 available spaces plus 200 additional overflow spaces, vending everything you’ve ever owned will not be feasible in the actual show area. (Keep the super beetle fenders at home or save them for the Bug Jam please)
Vending: Vending is welcome and will be in an adjacent parking lot with ample room for trailers.
Lodging: La Quinta Inns & Suites (5000 Lake Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760 727-299-9800) has offered to be the Host Hotel for Bulli Brigade XXI and will be blocking off a number of rooms at a reduced group rate. I have a follow up call with the manager tomorrow and will post prices then.
Additionally, Quaker Steak & Lube is located 17 miles from Fort De Soto and 9 miles from the KOA. As of today Fort De Soto advised me they had about 30 sites still available. I called 727-839-9185 to get the information I just gave you. Feel free to call Fort De Soto and inquire yourself if interested.
KOA that I’ve stayed at in years past is located at 5400 95th St N, St Petersburg, FL 33708 727-392-2233. As of today 8 sites are available for tent camping at the KOA.
I will have more info available in the days to follow and a write up for the Upcoming Events page, spread the word. |

I booked a spot for Friday and Saturday night. Still a nice place to camp even if the show isn't there. |

Just stinks that Ft. Desoto has such a harsh "no cancellation" policy. Can't even get a partial refund. Can only switch dates, which is cool if you live somewhere fairly close, but Bulli is just about the only time I'm ever down that way. Hate to go on and book a site for 4 nights, only to find the show ends up being 1.5 hours away or something. Just going to sit tight until further notice and hope a site is still available. _________________ Eric - 1966 camper bus

I made my reservations at Ft. DeSoto because it will be a cheap place to spend a night despite the following:

YES, Bulli Brigade will be in a new location in 2014.
We had some issues with both the Sheriffs office and the park. Most likely it won't even be in Pinellis County due to the restrictions and requirements they have asked me to fullfill.
Not sure on any details as of yet...focusing what little spare time I have on the Bulli Brigade Spring Meet. |

Yeah, their system is kind of hard to navigate. There's a greenbelt surrounding a lot of the sites in Area 1, so they look like they're on the water, but they aren't. As of today, it looks like for Nov 7 and 8 there are two waterfront sites left in Area 2: 87 and 116.
I'm in 97:

Haven't been on the samba much lately. To answer your question, BBXXI will be in greater Tampa. However, it will not be at Ft. DeSoto, a new location has been secured.
Some in the loop probably have heard that I have passed the reigns on to a new organizer and a true Cunado. So great news, the show will go on and is in very good hands with a solid crew. Bulli Brigade will continue to be THE longest running split window bus event for many years to come.
Look for the new sight to be announced soon. _________________ Call your Cunado's:
