We are in for Friday Dinner
I don't want to cook if I don't have to, so we might go out saturday for dinner also. I'm going to have Boone our dog, so he will have to hang in the bus for a short time. _________________ Central Jersey Volkswagen Society - President |

Trying to work out what I need to bring...looks like people are going out for dinner Sat night, which is great. How about during the day Saturday? Are there places to eat?
I'll hopefully be rolling in around 11pm Friday _________________ -=Rob

There's several restaurants, cafes etc in downtown Salem, pretty touristy. It's like a mile or two from camping to town and would be a loong walk. A bike is your best bet for getting around. Parking is really bad downtown especially in a nice old VW. I think there is a also a bus that runs from campground to downtown but limited schedule, not sure exactly. _________________

If anyone has a window winder for a bus, can up lease bring one with you? I broke my 4th one (the cheap jobs from BD)
This is the style I have... It's the wider type with the circle embossed in the plastic at the crank. Unlike the earlier ones which just had the thin arm covered.

But, anything that would work is even ok for now! _________________ Mike

Well, I'm back to a maybe. The crappy wiring in my bus has decided to rear it's ugly head yet again. If I can get it worked out tomorrow night, I'm still in. Right now I'm too frustrated and annoyed to deal with it. _________________ -=Rob

The wiring on this bus has always been a hack nightmare that I've never been able to talk myself into tackling. Both taillights are acting up and I have something blowing a fuse under the dash. It just got dark on me and I was chasing gremlins. I'll figure it out tomorrow hopefully. The amount of splices and rig jobs on this thing are just amazing. Every year I tell myself I'm gonna do it and every year I let it go
Well NEXT year........ _________________ -=Rob

We might be later than I wanted on Friday. Harper has a class trip that day, so we won't be leaving NJ till 3pm or so. _________________ Central Jersey Volkswagen Society - President |

Here is a thought. Horrible Freight has a set of magnetic rear tail lamps for trailering with wiring, about $30.00. You could run a jumper from ? and run three switches, or what ever. Probably quicker and less frustrating then what you have been avoiding for years. Not permanent but would get you thru the weekend. |
