I think the Dub Push pylons were a great idea. Also the one-stop check-in at the entrance to the show field was a big improvement over the previous procedure. And the two part judging forms were a pro touch. As were the "Staff" T-shirts. And the nice directional signs. And the fee and campground rules signs.
I remember last year, we had a bus in the Dub Push, and it wasn't controversial (that I recall), so a dune buggy in the Dub Push against heavier vehicles was really just another take on the same issue: do substantially different weights require "handicapping"? One solution could be: dune buggies - no more than three pushers; beetles etc. four pushers; buses - five pushers. Or something similar, to address the weight differential.
I think it was great that a new club stepped up to the Dub Push challenge and from my home town, no less! The more, the merrier.
And a sincere thank you to that legend of the VW hobby, Dyno Don. Always a pleasure to see and hear you, Don. For those of you who don't know about him, here's some info:

Was it fair to have a buggy go up against a bug? I don't know but it's all for fun anyway. Could of added a passenger in the buggy for a handicap. Maybe someone needs to build a stripped down bug specifically for the dub push next year.
Other great additions this year were the "autograph beetle" & the bay window photo spot.

Incredible show as always, I'd have to say Flanders has officially surpassed Litchfield as the best show in the Northeast. Thank you for all of your hard work CJVWS, truly amazing.
Only the second time I've tried a panoramic pic with my cell...but here it is

That turbo diesel Syncro had me drooling. Sadly, the price tag was too rich for my blood.
What was the actual number of spectators? _________________ 66 Sedan L456 "Ramona" |

I'm presuming that puppy is water cooled. They came to me and asked me if they could be in the show. I told them this was an air-cooled show, and referred them to a higher authority. Nice to see they got into the show after all. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

What a turn out this year, and there's still room for more. Great job by the central jersey VWC, the camping was off the hook, BusBQ Bill's amusement park set up this year kept everyone more than entertained all night long, foosball Saturday night was not the same without Stanagon this year, so we played a couple of rounds and went back out to the campsite.
The valve cover races this year were insane, record turn out as well. Tom and Raul made it to the finals with a pair of very nice valve cover race cars, where Tom took first place, but there were some real nice entries, and I have a feeling next year is going to be even better, this is no longer a kid's event, there's some serious engineering behind some of these year's models.

Great show, wonderfully organized, lots of great activities... Our hats off to the crew that made this possible. Well worth the 500 mile round trip from Northern Virginia... (Back roads as much as possible, of course... The Ghia likes these better than the interstates...)
Perhaps the best & most unique feature of all, among the car shows we've been to: after 5 hours on the road, being able to sit back on the deck of the clubhouse and sip a good German beer, looking out over the fields. Doesn't get much better than that. Well, until the show itself, of course...
Surprised by some of The Samba members who were there, seeing posts - after... Maybe they need to make a new requirement to have your Samba name near your VW... (Or Porsche, as the case may be...) Seems like we know a lot of you, but can't recognize you without the label... |

Yes it was.
Although the defending champ Mango Green Jersey Looker lost to Raul and his daughter's dune buggy by an inch or so in the first round... it was the grudge match afterwards with Mike's chromed out T4 cover that I was most interested in.
Sorry Mike ~
Better luck next year !!
That's a cool shot Joy !
I only took one pic myself.
I saw this guy wandering around the campground Saturday...
He reminded me of Flavor Flav for some reason.
