If the town would allow it, what about a banner running above the street from one side to the other across the road? Like when they advertise upcoming street fairs?

I believe most of the AC community are good, we wouldn't put this much energy into this event if we didn't think so. Unfortunately there are a few dirt bags out there that can potentially ruin it for everyone. If you run across someone with it hanging on their wall, or someone trying to sell one [we have had two stolen], let me know. Distance yourself from people like this, they are scum and do not deserve to be part of the community.
As for a local, I don't think so. The Swim and Sport club is relatively remote and there were other signs posted so pissing off a neighbor isn't probably the reason. I guess it could be a local punk, but I'd think if someone was going to steal a banner, they would be a fan of VW's and if they are a fan of VW's, they's probably be attending the event.

Or if the technology's become cheap enough...one of those GPS tracking chip things inside a sewn edge ?
Regardless...this sort of thing is total bullshit and it needs to stop.
I hope you guys catch whoever it was. _________________ Drive your VW... That's what it was made for.

Bugstuff wasn't there. Describe the vendor set-up. Was this a new parts vendor?

It was the vendor selling mostly empi parts. It was a lady doing most of the sales. Most the parts were brand and out of a white trailer. See photo below of the general area she was in.
