I'm not sure he was even talking about the raer of the car. Why would you change rear fenders when they look the same anyway?

Good point.. but if you're gonna fake the old funk.. better do that shit right....
Need to lay it all out... IMO..
as... Laughing
The 67 Posse' has been known to tear limbs from people at events who alter the holy 1967 Beetles..

1962-1967 rear fenders have same part number so only difference would be color of paint if not a 67 color. where is the posse???

www.evwparts in Severna, MD. He's got tons of stuff, seats, fenders, interior, exterior, plus new aftermarket junk like everyone else. I've been to his shop twice to get old and new parts.

His prices vary from good to so expensive as to elicit a "seriously???" from me.

Attention..a charter member has now posted.. .. Eh?
Laughing Wink

They are Urban Legends mainly Anxious
...Last heard rumor... San Diego area..California U.S.A...

Not really sure where now.. YOU NEVER KNOW.... thats their stength.. .. they seem to keep to the shadows.. THAT IS UNTIL a 1967 Beetle rolls in a VW event.. then its like beating off mosquito's.

I've managed to dodge most of them for at least 30 + years now..
The main posse rarely if ever head over to the Rust Coast.. but there are some found on every continent and every shore. Laughing
I doubt Ill out last them all.. Im sure one will get me eventually

I have crossed pathes with a few in my short life though..

Just in case... Im always ready...

I lucked up around the late 70's early 80's and found a case of this spray (see below)
It has an usual awful scent mixture thats hard to describe..
Kinda like a Callery Pear Tree pollinating in the spring and wet metal rusting.
It works well for its labeled intended purpose... Laughing

Haha-you guys are a trip!!! I asked about FRONT fenders and got the posse all rowled up...
I am getting the front fenders and painting 4 fenders I think. I had already pondered that. I just like the headlights/fenders on the '66 and down bugs because of the "flared" fenders and the "laid back" headlights.
Haha, I decided to check back on my post and stirred the shit pot up I see.

Do what you want brother! In my book if you are keeping a bug on the road you are cool in my book. I don't care if its a hood ride, purist ride, Frankenstein ride..... Just keep these Bugs alive!

(hang onto your OG fenders though just in case - I try to keep lots of spare parts around especially original parts)

My friend has a 70 with 66 fenders looks great!

I have a '70 Mexican bug (built as a 1967 American Beetle) and I slammed the '66 Front fenders, with Porsche style covers, looks bitchin' to me.

I think I would throw the early fenders on the front and then claim it was a ultra special rare European car shipped across the pond by the Porsche family themselves to use as a summer car at their cabin in the Grand Teton mountains. That kind of stuff really wows people at car shows!

Wow.... I thought that the Porsche family had wrecked that car in a drag race against a 356 Laughing Wink

Seriously, I like the older pre-67 look better. So I would change the fenders if you like that better (and keep the original fenders with the car as spares) ...... purists will not help you build your car, they just whine about it when it's all finished and looking nice Laughing ... who cares!

I checked the website and the address but found it on 302 Wembly Street which is a single family home neighborhood. So where is this guy's shop located in Severna Park??? Looking at the satellite image of this address there's no way a VW parts shop with used parts like fenders, seats, etc. could be located there. Maybe I just got the wrong address off the website Confused

They did and it sat in this barn out in the country ever since until this fortunate guy came along and found it. Why it even has a Porch engine!
