BBB !
19 will be here before you know it. We are looking forward to a great event again next year.
PLEASE be courteous to the crew and staff of BBB, we all work hard to make this happen. Look for the people in the safety green shirts, staff and/or crew colors if you need anything or have an issue.
The event get very crowded and there is space for all. Park where and as you are asked. Most of you know the routine but for those that don't it is what it is.
Gates open Thursday morning after the LBB and their helpers get the event area all set up. PLEASE do not try to enter before this as you WILL be asked to leave till the area is opened up.
See you all soon.
The LBB will be watching this site and the facebook page to answer any questions as the event gets closer. _________________ Follow us on FACEBOOK

I missed last year's BBB. I'll try not to do that again.
Driving down from Sacramento via Bakersfield and Barstow, as usual.
Nothing new on the bus this year except for aluminum roof racks to replace the steel ones. Still debating whether to bring the single-wheel. _________________ -- JLT

First I must present my personal "disclaimer": Some folks feel I rule the caravan with an iron fist! Ok, I can take it, but the fact is that we get there with enough daylight to set up camp, get a fire pit and wood and such. So, while you are free and welcomed to join us (me!), these are the requirements...
Please note AND realize the "rules of engagement" when going along with me to Lake Havafew which are as follows:
1. Have your bus in good tune and running order!
2. We leave at the given time to leave!
3. Show up prior to that time!
4. Be ready to depart, meaning already fueled up, coffeed and/or fed!
Issues: We do realize that shtuff happens. However, having your bus in good running order, tuned, not hemorraging oil, and like that, helps tremendously in preventing major catastrophies! I've been there and trust me, it is no fun being the one who holds a caravan up, specially on long assed trips like this one! Also, it helps having a 2-way CB radio to keep in communication with the group in case something happens, as well as having fun while we're at it! Now, in case something does happen, we will assess the "situation" and come up with the quickest solution in order to keep the caravan going. If we can fix the problem relatively quick, we'll do just that. If on the other hand it is a "catastrophic" event, then a secure place must be found for the broken bus and a tow truck called for the rescue. No fair having all involved lose out on the weekend due to one broken bus!
With that said, the route from San Diego is as follows:
From 2nd Street in the Cajon Zone
The 8 freeway east to El Centro where we stop for gas. Grab a donut if you want but this is a quick stop!!!
Then we'll take the 111 north to the 78 east
Go through Glamis
The Whoop-dee-doos
The Ziggy-zaggy
Then the 10 east to the Flying J truck stop at Ehrenberg. Here we stop for gas, strech out and have some "brunch"!
From right there we'll take Aridzona's Hwy 1 which is the Ehrenburg/Poston Hwy north
Go trough Poston and on to Parker where we'll take the 95 all the way to Lake Havafew City.
Once there we set up camp and start enjoying the weekend!
So far we have talked about a 4 am departure time on Thursday!!!. I don't mind 5 am but 6 am have proven to be just a bit late. However, 3 am is indeed pushing it WAY too early. May end up "nailing" an agreed time as we get closer to next year... which is, well, in a couple of WEEKS!!! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Ivan,
I'm planning to leave Thursday morning as well. But I'll meet you guys there as I'll be taking i-10, not sure if I'll do Hwy 62 through 29 stumps or head to Rice Rd. instead. _________________ Beto

Be glad to have you with us!
Take "our" route off the I-10. HWY 1 it's a sweet and easy drive to Parker, heavy traffic, as in big trucks is not allowed except for local deliveries. Most of the time it's just us on the road and cruise around 60mph. Bypasses the Quartzite mess too! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Not traveling with you all, the route on the two laners is so much easier and you sorta own the road. I-10 could be a lil dicey the high speed drivers. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

OK, here we go it's rule time!

NO water cooled and other then BUSES allowed in the main event area's. So please don't try and park your Jetta or Ford pick-up with your friends buses, this is NOT ALLOWED.
2. There will be LBB members in Safety GREEN shirts with staff on them, have a question ASK ONE, want to argue with one, you'll be asked to leave. 10 LBB members work there ASSES off to put this event on so PLEASE RESPECT THEM and do as they ask, we want a HAPPY event.
3. ALL beverages must be in a plastic container, NO GLASS "PERIOD". All glass bottles must remain in your VEHICLE, DO NOT let the rangers see any glass.
4. This is a STATE PARK and the RANGERS are the POLICE, please OBEY all the rules of the State of AZ and the LBB.
5. All animals MUST be on leashes at ALL TIMES, NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE pick up after your animal does it's bussiness.
6. QUIET TIME starts at 10 P M, PLEASE observe this as there are people that like to sleep, if LOUD you will only be asked once to quiet down.
7. As per the request of a majority of campers there will be NO DRUM CIRCLE, PERIOD.
8. Please park as INSTRUCTED, don't argue with LBB staff, just do as asked. This will help expedite parking. We expect a huge crowd and you will be asked to pack it in tighter then normal.
9. NO motorized bikes, mini bikes, go carts, scooters, etc. allowed in the event area PERIOD. If you feel the need take it to the parking lot, observe the 15mph speed limit and we'll all be happy.
PLEASE have respect for those around you. This is a family event and there are children present. _________________ Follow us on FACEBOOK
