No not yet! Im still along way off from that. Those are 205's on there, they stick out 1/2" past the rim so I was thinking maybe go to a 145 or maybe 155 60. What are you thinking about running |

175/55/15 Contenentals front
175/65/15 Dunlops rear
You can see the beam clearance, I am 1/2 way up on my adjusters.
Yeah going to need some fender work its rubbing pretty good. 165/65 might have been better but will fix the fenders to get some room. I am at 3 clicks inner in the rear.
Its prob going to be a while before I get anything more done. I still need to lower the pass rear to 3 clicks inner. If you can find used tires I would go that way till you find what you really like. So far if I can get the back worked out I thik I will love it. _________________ 68 build that had been sitting for 18yr in a garage.

why such a short tire in the rear? i've run 2 outer/1 inner combo on MANY cars with 195/65/15 and 205/65/15 with no problems. that 175/65/15 is gonna run your rpm's up which can make you run a little on the hot side.
if it's a matter of offset of the wheels it looks like you probably have long axles and switching to short axles would give you the space to tuck a bigger tire in that same opening. _________________ ITMC

175/65 are 1.4 inches shorter than the 165/80 @ 25.4. I was hoping that that inch and 7/16 would not be that big of a difference. I know the offset would be a tight fit but its what I have. I also did not know you could swap out IRS axles for shorter ones. If I could do that I would run a full size tire as long as I could run it as low. I could not seem to find any info on the irs swap to short axles with any details. If you could point me in the right direction that would be great. _________________ 68 build that had been sitting for 18yr in a garage.

Looking good bud!!!! I just finished up my rear today with 205 on there. I'm gonna try and get it a little lower though. Rolled the fender a bit and doesn't seem to rub. I'm about 31/2 down on the back try and get some pics tonight |

We have tire clearance! 3lb hammer and 1" steel block. I have about 1/4 of an inch.
I pounded the front out too. Make sure you take out your headlight, mine shattered. I was in a bit of a hurry as I don't get too much time to work on the car.
This is my sons Lego guy to see how low it is. This is with almost no gas in it and I am about 195, 200 so it will prob be 1/2 off the ground and I scraped the beam coming into the garage. I will prob take those off and cap them, or not LOL
I still have not done the pass side yet in the rear. I was driving it around and it rides pretty good. The back tire was smoking from rubbing on the fender. I need to get that done, prob take few hrs if I can find some time. _________________ 68 build that had been sitting for 18yr in a garage.

Lol I like the lego guy for scale lol. Just put mine back together. I will post some pics later. I have been cut back hours so get to work on it Fridays but the funds are bad lol. And put my rear fenders on that I had bought from a guy and when I went to roll the lip a quarter inch of bondo fell out. So stripped it down.... so more work now.. oh well |
