Hey!

I have rebuild my engine and it is running as new! (tested it 1000km, no problems). Now I am mounting my judson and was wondering how to set up the right ignition timing. I have a 123 TUNE ignition installed and at the moment it is running at the 009 curve. But I don't know if have set it up right since I only can find 1 mark on my crankshaft pulley. And I don't know if that i the TDC or the standard 7* ??? I also read that I have to retard the timing by 5 degrees, but that was for a 1200cc engine. Is it the same for this 1300?

Hello, I was wondering why if you already have an electronic ignition of the 123's calibre that you would piggy-back another electronic ignition onto it? The Judson Magneto contains electronics (ancient ones) with the sole purpose being to take the inductive load of the breaker points so that they wouldn't burn. It also allowed them to switch more cleanly for better starting, but it really wasn't an improvement other than the coil was probably good quality 'back in the day'. I presume the 123 ignition would provide the current pulses to the Judson just like the points did in the old days, so it would probably work, but it would be a more reliable solution to just fire a good quality coil from the 123 and forget about the Judson. The Judson sure looks cool, but......Fred

Hey, disregard this message if you meant a Judson supercharger. Just me jumping to conclusions (again) Sorry, Fred
