Just picked up a complete set of 67 fenders at kelly park today. On my way there, cursing the day I thought a sunroof would not be that bad to fix.

Next, sewfine?
Also, thinking of an American flag as the interior upholstery on the ragtop.

Just got my wiring harness, will be test fitting the fuse box prior to paint to get everything just right.

Here is what I bought

Also, the great task of putting in the ragtop sunroof will occur in just a few weeks. If anyone has any pointers that would be awesome.

Just started to really sit down and get the sliding ragtop sunroof in. Biggest things I have to say is measure 25 times and cut once.

Here is what I did with measuring.
TOOLS (the things you might not think about):
1.) 120 inch sewing measure tap. (It's really hard to measure curved objects)
2.) Carpenters square, made from bendy plastic. (I liked to make a measure perpendicular from a verified reference line or point.

Drawing the cut lines
1.) KEY REFERENCE POINTS: are a must. For this I used on both the donar clip and the car to get the clip the following:
A: Roof center-line. This was measured several times and verified in the a couple key places, i.e. windsheild, B-pillar, and few key points measured a specified distance from the B-pillar to form perpendicular lines from the gutter which ran across the roof.
B: B-pillar
C: Front of ragtop hole in roof.
D: Rear of ragtop hole.
E: Sides of ragtop hole.

When all was said and done I measured the diagnal distances across the roof to verify I made a perfect box. Did it right on the first try.

Other things to account for in the cut:
1.) How much the cutting instrument removes.
2.) How much of an over-lap you want when using a flanging tool. This is the strongest and most seem-less way of installing panels.

NOTE: When using a flanging tool, right angles are impossible to flange, to get around this I cut diagnol across the corners a small amount to form a octogon from the clip. Also, when using a flanging tool, verify that the all areas of the panel to be installed have no raised obstructions to offset your flang,

Going the extra mile and got the cut out clip from the donor sand blasted. Crisp, clean and ready for welding.
Question: do I keep the corner supports?
