|
|
I'm having a difficult time determining where to mount my fuel pressure regulator outside the engine bay while using my stock pump. Can the regulator be mounted on the intake side of the pump, up by the gas tank? Or am I limited to running it off of the discharge side somewhere crazy? |

Being as it needs to regulate the pressure going to the carbs, discharge side.
If you are running it to dual carbs, you can run the line back to the left side firewall, mount the regulator there, and T from there to each carb.
If course that doesn't get it out of the engine bay. _________________ 74 1303 (RevBug): plan for German Look

Why do you want to use a regulator for a stock pump? More parts and more leaks. _________________ 2007 NHRA Division 6 Finals Champion air cooled Rabbit P/U rear engine compact/import class, 13.32 sec 1/4 Woodburn, Oregon

Dual kads. I need to get to 2psi and I don't really want to use gaskets unless it's definitely the better way to go |

If you have good needle valves in the float bowls on the inlet of the carbs I found kads do fine up to 3 1/2 lbs. Unless you get GOOD regulators and a gauge too it's a waste of time and money. You can also shorten the fuel pump rod some to lower the pressure in a stock fuel pump _________________ 2007 NHRA Division 6 Finals Champion air cooled Rabbit P/U rear engine compact/import class, 13.32 sec 1/4 Woodburn, Oregon

Try it without the reg first. I have never installed a reg with Kaddies and a stock mechanical pump
I use a Facet with modified Kaddies (electric/higher-flow pump required for the engine's power level - otherwise I would use stock!) and there are no pressure-related problem with it (prolonged idle) either ... so give it a try.
Hope this helps |

No need for regulators no adding gaskets learn to do it the old school way like hooker said shorten the rod. |
