is this ok or I'm I missing something
shouldn't be a ring on the leaves springs in order for the bearing to work in it?

I'm getting a type of metal to metal whistle type of sound
I believe the bearing may be dry???

Yes.

You have the late style Pressure Plate and the early style throw out arm/bearing. You need the adapter ring. Most good parts houses sell them separate.

This one was broken, but gives an idea of how it fits onto the PP. Inside ring and outside ring held together by the C-clip that is broken on this one. (do not know why it broke, picture from gallery search)

Does look a tad bit wonkie... While you are in there replace it now ... OR you will be doing engine pull in less than 3 months to change it...

You are correct Dale, this will be replaced, but you know, this was a last minute thing from me, I was not going to touch the throw out bearing, but the whistles in the back of my mind wore bothering me, so, in the last moment, I removed myself from home and dismantle the damn thing just to see what witchcraft was going on in there, good thing I did decided to do so Cool
