Does anybody know why this diagram:
Has nothing to to with the only available 69 GHia wiring diagram?
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiring/ghia_67_USA.jpg
The Hazard switch is dead center at J6 with only three wires. K , S and ground.
Does anybody have a suggestion as to how I can combine the two? The wires dont match up
SOO conffuuuuuuuuuused!

Mine has the big blue box though..nine pins...can I just use select pins?
That diagram is for the 1970-1 ghia....with way more switches and buzzers than my 69.....made in 68....so at what point did they start and stop using the big blue box and was it ever in conjunction with the hazard switch with all the terminals on the back? |

Had a similar problem with my 69 UK car, seems to be a mix of 70/71 switches and relays, but with the rest of the loom largely unchanged from 67.
I have both diagrams printed out and if I can't find something on one, it's usually on the other _________________ 1969 UK Karmann Ghia build http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=518789&highlight= |

ok..so here's the burning question....what hazard switch goes with the big blue relay? It only should have three terminals And can I use the big blue relay with the normal hazard switch?

Looking at the 67-69 Ghia wiring diagram here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiringghia.php
All the terminals used on that wiring diagram are on the blue relay in the advert, plus the colours on the bottom of the blue relay also match the wire colours on the 67-69 Ghia wiring diagram. 54 and 54f aren't used in the 67-69 Ghia loom, but then as the advert says these were used in bugs, buses, ghias, type 3's and type 34's, so it wouldn't be unusual to have a couple of extra terminals not used.
The 67-69 loom shows this relay in use with a three-wire "emergency light switch" (which I assume is the Hazard switch) _________________ 1969 UK Karmann Ghia build http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=518789&highlight= |

I see the confusion now . The old volks home diagram you posted is more off a late 69 -71, and is of the switch for those years, not the relay . it will not have any relevance for you. follow the linked wiring diagram..... |

is there a way to plug that switch into the mix? I have both the relay and other but no 3-wire switch type ...I wonder how I would test the functionality of the complicated switch to find the right plug points.... |
