But when wired in car following symptoms;

1. No motion when indicator arm moved, no dash light
2. Manually lift arm up, dash light is illuminated

Appreciate any help

The dash light is a separate circuit from the semaphore coil. The dash light is grounded in the semaphore when semaphore moves up.

If both semaphores do not function, the problem is most likely the fuse, wire between the fuse and the switch or the switch.

Isolate the problem by checking for voltage at the following locations:
1 Both sides of the fuse.
2. The center semaphore switch terminal.
3. Both sides of the semaphore switch terminal when the switch is turned on.
4. Both semaphore terminals when the switch is turned on.

Looking for some advice.
When my semaphores are wired per wiring diagram they open and close but the bulb in each semaphore will not light. The indicator light just stays lit constantly.

When I disconnect bulb wires from dash indicater and apply voltage the bulb in semaphore lights continually wether semaphore open or closed.

Is there a short in my semaphores?

Any help is appreciated.

The coil and bulb are wired together in the semaphore. The semaphore pin grounds the bulb in the dash.

Troubleshoot the dash bulb by removing the dash bulb wire at the semaphore. The dash bulb is connected to 6V ign sw, when the pin in the semaphore moved down it grounds the dash bulb. This lights the bulb and shows the driver if the semaphore has moved out.
Disassemble the semaphore and trace the problem inside.

Adding to what Wayne said, The wire for the semaphore's bulb is supposed to be connected to the lower terminal of the semaphore with the wire that feeds the semaphore's coil. To this terminal is the main power from the turn signal switch.

Someone has been messing with your semaphores and they've removed the wire for the bulb and attached it wrongly to the upper terminal. You'll need to de-solder it and attach it to the lower terminal.
