I have the body off my 1973 Super Beetle Convert. My question: Do I install the engine in the frame assembly first and then lower the body over it, or do I put the body and pan together first and then the engine back in? |

^^^ and it makes cool construction pictures! And..., if you're so inclined-you can go pan racing down your street before reassembly. _________________

You can also split the difference.
Install the body with the engine out , then get the engine under the apron with the shroud off. After the engine is under the apron ,install the shroud and bolt the engine to the transaxle. _________________ My beetle is not competing with your beetle. I have the yellow beetle in my town.
