What is the correct cargo mat for a 72 Kombi with a full length middle seat? Is it 4 long slots or 8 individual squares to accommodate the clamps that anchor down seat?

The 4 long slot mats also seem to have a cone like opening to accommodate a vent under the middle seat. I assume this might be correct for the 73-79 busses?

The 8 square mats do not have an additional opening for the vent. I assume this version is for the 68-72 busses?

Are my assumptions correct?

Thanks.

Yes, the D shaped cutout under the seat is a 73+ feature, I can't recall what year VW ditched the lower clamp plates for the seats but I think the long slots began a year or two later.
You need one with the individal small rectangular holes, 6 or 8, you can cut the extra ones yourself, the locations are marked on the bottom of the mat.
