No diner like that around these parts, just waiting for the next challenge.
Next challenge: your VW in front/at a 50's diner (preferably one still open) _________________ Schrodinger's cat walked into a bar and it didn't.

It was a holiday weekend, people are busy. Give it some time. I know I'm looking for a diner and time to go take a pic. _________________ 1964 Beetle

Let me know when, I know where a couple are.

If it gets the job done... I know where to find a 50's diner in NY and CT, but no luck here in WA. |

Patience. We just got the KG out of winter storage and are celebrating by going to a 1947 diner for breakfast/lunch today. E. |

Gypsy's shiny diner in Cary NC (actually built in the 80s contrary to the desires of prudish Cary residents.).
Never mind, let e&m ghia complete the challenge. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Iconic diner in Fairfax VA:
Almost a tie, but TDCTDI was there first… But a good excuse to go out & get a good breakfast - son loved the excursion & food.
So we'll maintain his original challenge, which we saw while eating breakfast at the diner:
Your VW next to a campfire (or something like that) |

Next up, I hope this wasn't done....
A picture of your VW with the oldest friend/relative in your circle.
Bonus points if the older person owned a dub at one time!
Double bonus points if they are over 80 and still own a dub!! _________________ 1971 Super Beetle (past)

How about 3 70 something old timers with at least 20 VWs between them presently.
On the left below is Buck 78 and owns a 73 super
(our 80 something VW owner passed away a little while ago)
Next, your VW and pink flamingo real or plastic. _________________ Rick

Does this count? (No I'm not at my house) If so, and if I'm allowed to pick another challenge (if not that's ok), the next challenge is your VW next to another air-cooled vehicle (not a VW or motorcycle) _________________ 1959 Fjord Blue Volkswagen Beetle

Just our luck. We were a bit too late for the last challenge, and too early for the next, it appears… (The yellow car in the diner pic above was a Corvair, if I remember right.) So the challenge stands:

Bummer, I missed ours by a few blocks today- but... Nobody can park in front of it- 911 and all. It would have to be a distance shot.
Way to take the challenge and blow it up as big as possible by the way! _________________

Cali army guy, you are my hero! Id say you won that challenge, hands down! Do you happen to know if they still fly that dc3? We have one at our local airport but it's rarely flown. They are such cool airplanes _________________ 1959 Fjord Blue Volkswagen Beetle

Each engine is a 30 liter, 14 cylinder, air cooled radial. The DC-3 was only made from 1936-1942.
They don't fly it anymore. Now it's just advertisement for the airport which has a cool little cafe, flight lessons, and a parachute center.
I don't know how long ago they stopped flying it. I do know that about 15 years ago this was the aircraft they used everyday, multiple times a day, to take up the jumpers. I've been inside it, but never flown in it. At that time I lived about 2 miles from the airport and had this plane fly over a lot. Something else that was cool, and kinda of scary, was depending on the wind they would jump out over my house. Luckily no ones chute ever failed and I never had anyone end up in my roof. Although they do have about one fatality a year there.
