I removed your other thread and put your information in the first post of this thread.

If you want something edited in the first post of this thread, PM me, although it's probably better just to make a new post when there is a new challenge as you can't edit the original post forever here or somewhere else, as you found out.

skapunkfoo wrote:
hey folks made a new thread with the list of challenges completed since this game is starting to take off.

Hopefully it'll become a sticky!

anyway i also posted some guidelines for the game. if the community wants to change or come up with some new ones as the game progresses let me know and i'll edit it.

list and guidelines
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7321972#7321972

I'll also edit the link into the very first post so its easier to find later on.
ok...... I cant edit the link in, an ADMIN will have to do it *WINK *WINK

Now... lets get this back on track.

Good to see a challenge that you have to actually drive your VW to accomplish. What's the fun in a challenge you can do from your driveway?

We havent had a dealer since the 80's (i think, maybe the 70's) But now under construction is our new VW dealer. I went to take a picture infront of the coming soon sign but it was blocked by mounds of dirt and a chain link fence so Ill have to wait till it opens. Sorry.

Just from playing this game in other forums you only do the current challenge. I'm not making rules and it's not my thread but you have different people picking which challenge to do. Just seems a bit confusing IMO.

My bus next to the local VW dealer, Kinney Motors. This was originally Lindholm VW Rutland Vermont.

Next Challenge; your VW next to the same year car/truck of another manufacturer.

It's also true that overly strict rule enforcement, combined with overly tough challenges, will rapidly kill a game like this. To be successful, you need participants and momentum. To get participants, you need the challenges to be involving and accessible. To make the challenges involving and accessible, they can't be obscure or impossible. Wink

For example, make a challenge like "Your VW next to a pink Citroen 2CV under the Eiffel Tower.", and that's it- thread stalled for a week or two until we collectively complain and someone throws out a new challenge. Repeat "challenges" like this a few times in a row, and it's just not fun anymore and everyone gives up. Confused

However, make challenges like "Your VW full of groceries", or "A picnic with your VW"....Even odd things like "Your VW with a donut on the hood"... and now the vast majority of readers could complete the challenge - and it gives everyone a good incentive to go out for a drive and have some fun. Wink THOSE are the accessible challenges that get knocked off in a few days, and then the ball starts rolling faster and faster as more people join in. Cool

All valid points WD-40, Just did not want to see one person doing a "By the sea" challenge while someone else does the dealership one and then each of those people would make what they think is the current challenge.

Next Challenge; your VW next to the same year car/truck of another manufacturer.

From the unfulfilled challenge list, we found an opportunity today at a local car/bike show: Your VW next to a motorcycle of the same color... We found one today... Tapped a local biker's shoulder, to make him stop. Fortunately, he was going really slow, as he was leaving. E got a pic on her cell-phone camera:

We know of the perfect donut shop to help with the "unfulfilled" list... Just need an opportunity to get there...

For the current challenge:

Glad to see this thread didn't die. It's slow going, like most of our cars and that's ok. I've been laid up in bed due to a severe crash on my motorcycle. Soon as I'm able to get out and drive the beetle I will rejoin the game.

Next challenge: your vw at a doughnut house.

It's been a little while with no takers...

Went to another car show on sunday - very local. Lo and behold, next to us parked a 73 Mustang... So this one fell into our laps:
