An aggressive retailer pushing for a good year end?
Hopefully the prices come down since the price of fuel has dropped. |
Funny, I was looking at a bill of lading for a cargo shipment last week, and it still has a "fuel surcharge" on it. Just paid $2.99 per gallon for diesel, they are quick to raise prices when fuel goes up, but when fuel comes down, not so much... _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS

Fuel surcharges will fluctuate with the oil market. My company actually decreased the fuel surcharge this week.
The base rates will continue to rise as costs continue to increase.
Semi driver pay is at an all time high because there are not enough truck drivers to handle the demand. Trucking company insurance rates (cargo and liability) will be increasing soon as the minimum liability and cargo insurances will probably be increased by the federal government.
Electronic logbooks and adjusted shorter hours of service do not help with end user costs either.
UPS and FedEx are increasing their ground rates 4.9% for 2015. _________________ I make HWE style roof racks, Jim-Dandy racks, SO-33 metal parts, Dormobile racks, HWE style ladders, engine crank start handles, Westy rack tags, Binz tags, Sundial badges, State of California tags, steering lock electrical covers and single / double cab gate latch friction blocks.

Electronic logbooks just make sure that it is more difficult to cheat.... Nothing wrong with making trucking safer.
shipping will cost what shipping costs, but maybe we do not need to transport heads of salad from California to Georgia? In germany fuel cost is much higher, trucker working hours are strictly regulated, and cargo still gets delivered... _________________ regards

And.. California wonders why so many businesses and residents have tired from all their bureaucratic BS and relocated out of state.

The thing is that, historically, CA is the tip of the spear when it comes to boning the economy and it's residents. It starts here and spreads to the other 49 states like cancer. We just achieved the memorable benchmark of having more people on the dole or employed by the public sector than employed full-time in the private sector. Coming soon to a state near YOU! _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

Gerson I wanted to thank you publicly for taking time out to speak to me via email and phone. I located a double cab that I will be picking up this week. Your advice was very helpful. People with a commitment to their trade are rare these days, but you showed me that you and your company offer great customer service to potential customers as well as exsisting customers. I'll be in touch and we will get together after the holidays. |

Well Mr. Shapiro, funny you should mention this...starting in Jan or Feb, no one will not be able to call and order parts direct from me, it will be done on our new website, the new site will have the cost of shipping when you check out, better descriptions of the parts available and the year range...it will tell you if the parts are in stock or not, wait time, and it will send out tracking info as soon as the parts ship...it will have the latest and greatest SSL/encription...and the parts will be shipping from Florida..no more shipping from Colombia...how about that sir??? |
Is this still on target? I need to order some SC load bed pieces and out of FLA would be cheaper than South America _________________ Can't polish a turd!
