X2. $40 for swap spot to a small local show is just ridiculous. The larger VW shows like OCTO, Drag Day & Bug-In only charge $5-$20 for a swap spot.
I attended this show last year and 90% of the parts were exhausts & heater boxes. The other 10% were greasy, rusty parts. |

IIRC, the OCTO charges $40-$50 to swap unless you are driving in with a split bus!
I'll be attending this show for the first time and hearing about what the swap has to offer, I'll be just showng. Just Do the same. _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Not being cheap or frugal, but $40 for a swap spot is pricey. But as the saying goes: "You cant make everyone happy"
If the show promoters can bring in a large number of swappers by charging $40, good for them. But if only a very small number decide to swap, maybe its time to re-think what to charge next year. This is only the 2nd year, so the event organizers I'm sure are still on a learning curve.
For myself, I can't see paying $40. If I were to do that, I'd have to increase my prices just to compensate for the cost of doing business at this particular venue. And with a price increase, customers tend to wander away thinking "Why is he asking so much?" But I do still plan on attending to see friends & hopefully some new rides _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

The show is still on, the fires did have us concerned, They seemed to be settling down. The weather was a huge driving force behind the fires and now the weather is changing for the better. We are a go. we are working hard to make sure we have a successful show. I invite you all to join us and help the young Men and Women of the ABLE CLUB, with their scholarship drive. Doors open at 7am

The winds have changed and the fires are pretty much over. Should be quite a bit cooler, too. I will be hauling a bus load of parts down, mostly type 1 stuff and engines stuff, some of it is rusty and greasy some of it is new. If I sell more than $40 worth of stuff then I will consider it a good day. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Went to this for the first time: without a doubt one of the best shows I have ever attended in San Diego County. Lots of familiar faces, Mariachis, Brazilian dancers and drum line, great food strands, very nice selection of cars and a lively swap. Great job for sure. For sure will show up next year with another heap of parts to get rid of. Thanks! _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Indeed a very kool show! Not just that, quite unique too! Along with the mariachis Dan mentioned, there were all sorts of happenings too!
First, got there early enough to score prime real estate, corner even!
There were also a couple of thems ^^^drones^^^ doing their thing.
Randar Randie brought the most badass motorbike I've ever seen!
This “in progress” project is coming along pretty good!
This item isn’t my cup of tea but at least the graft was well done.
Don’t think it’s aircooled, but kool it is!
Love the tiny 10” wheels!
Here’s another angle!
Did I mention there was all sorts of stuff happening?
“Went to a car show…. And a Mardi Grass broke out!!!"
