This is my project car it's about 1 a half years into the build hoping to have it running Christmas 2014. Starter with a rusted out, Baja 56 bug.It has a ragtop clip, ej22 Subaru power, pro street double freeway flyer, vintage air air conditioning, full air ride suspension, and when all lids are closed you can t see any of it even in the interior no vents or extra gauges can be seen. More pics soon. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1202236.jpg. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1202237.jpg |

I'm sure that the purists will be along any time to bash. This looks great, so far. I would love to drive a subie powered bug, a rag and oval window makes it all the better. _________________ 1956 Ragtop |

Shame if they do... it was a baja'd Oval given a second chance to live. And it all seems pretty well done anyway.
A 56 ain't really that rare.
Keep going and please keep us updated. _________________ 1963 Karmann Ghia - Sold

My 56 rag is not original and if it was I would sell it and buy one that is not because driving a 36hp is no fun. Your car looks like it will be fun to drive and looking good so far. Looking at the rag graft alone you have some previous owner work to fix, that is a long seam that should be under the rail and not visible.
How are you planning to get air to the radiator without it being visible? |

nice work, one thing, you can turn the Subaru manifold the other way, so the throttle body points out, no mods, just un screw it turn it around and screw it back on _________________ low and slow

Yeah I know you can flip the intake but that also makes more problems. It just worked out better for my car this way. But thanks anyway for the advise. |

Is there going to be some kind of firewall behind the radiator?
I would imagine there is going to be some positive pressure along with some heat coming into the cabin if it weren't sealed up real well.
BTW, I would pay $10 to be able to drive it once completed. _________________ 55 Oval |

Yeah it's sealed down low no air will come around it and it's ducted out under the gas tank so the heat will go out. Maybe I should charge admission for rides!! Pay for the build! |
