new motor lost oil pressure

Had something similar recently. Rebuilt a 1600 single relief case, did all the normal stuff, ran great after break in, check valves, new oil. Went for test drive all good, then coming home, pressured dropped and dip stick too hot to touch.

My problem was the oil relief valve being stuck. Once set free all is well.

Also make sure the fittings used for the oil pressure gauge are not crappy. Turns out that is the issue I was having.
