moving right along, once the excitement of my new 15 window wore out, I went back at it, this week, I was able to finish assembling the motor and , rebuilding a pair of carbs, pimping out a stock muffler, and re-wiring the front and rear. I slapped the motor in, but it has to come back out tonight, because I forget to connect the fuel sender unit.

I bought the correct terminals and crimping tool to make it all look Purdy, the A&T Singlecab donated some wires and fuse block out of its old wire harness, and away I went.

So, since my last update, I have replaced and re-replace the ignition switch, 1 the one that was there took in water, I never realized the water made it that high, and 2 I located an L code and for the first time in all these years I will have 1 key to lock everything, up until this point I only had an ignition switch key and never locked anything, surprisingly no one ever tried to break into it.

the motor went up and fired right up
and then I started having issues with a really loud alternator bearing, so I did what anyone of would have done, I ordered a chromed Chinese alternator from the samba, chrome always gets you home. that's getting installed this weekend.
While I was getting things up, the throttle cable fought me tooth and nail to go in, so I snaked the crap out of that tube,
it was really filthy and clogged in there

with that done, I installed new accelerator pedal pieces and the new throttle cable

I adjusted the breaks and took it for its first drive around the block, all gears went in and the motor purred like a kitten, the breaks needs a little more loving, but who needs breaks when you're having this much fun?

just a heads up for anyone in this situation again, a friend of mine does coastal dredging with a very big Kato and he parks it in his farm dam every night after the job. It looks beautiful and nothing has rusted in years. We go on the beach a lot with my rangie and we always sit it in the river ford on the way home for a good half hour soak. Gets fresh water into all the places the salt got to. No rust problems.
