Your car is great looking. I really like the headliner; I'm going to save the info for a future project. Once again great car.

Thank you for the kind comments. I've been having a lot of fun with the car over the last year and a half. Along with showing it at car shows I've been doing some drag racing with it.

My best time is 15.3 @86mph. I'm installing 1.25 ratio rockers this weekend. I will post the new time.
This winter I will p&p the heads or put bigger heads on. I'm not sure. It would be nice to see what the difference is one change at a time.

Thanks, Paul

It looks like I will have to wait until spring to see if I can improve my 1/4 mile time. The last race is Saturday. I ordered the CB 1.25 rocker kit and Jaycee pushrod tubes. They forgot to ship the rockers.

Very clean and tasteful. I like that you haven't gone overboard with worrying about being totally "correct" or what everyone else is doing. Tastes come and go. Right now everyone seems to be almost overly concerned and nitpicky about whether its OG or a repop. Back in the late 80's, very few people gave a rats behind and it may go back that way again. Do what you want and enjoy it. Beautiful car. While mine will never be that clean as I just don't have that much workspace to do a pan off resto, I can truly appreciate what you have going on there.

I like what you did with the headliner. I need to see if I can do that with my '64 sunroof. I like seeing the freshly painted metal instead of fabric.

I kind of wish we did the same thing with our headliner. I knew it felt strange putting glue all over that nice paint...oh well next time maybe.

I'm very happy with the way may car turned out. Installing the headliner like this is easier, sort of. As I mentioned before I had to remove all the clips and weld up the tabs on the sides of the rear window. I would be difficult to go back to a stock headliner. I do like the look though.

Here's a pic of me racing at a car show/drag race in Southern Oregon. This was the final round. I was lucky enough to win the whole thing. There were only 15 VW's racing though.

Do you have park lights and blinkers in the factory park light housing? or just one or the other? If both what size bulb are you running to make this happen? thanks

No running light in the headlight assembly. Just turn signals

Well you have a killer dub! Very Happy I currently have the same light configuration (changed the park lights to blinkers) and Id like the park lights to work as well. I know I need a duel element bulb/bulb holder but don't know what size to get and will fit into the park light bulb hole. If you or anyone out there knows the answer to this ? I would appreciate the help/answer. thanks in advance
