This is a build thread on my first car/first VW. I'm 16 years old, and I'm building this car with my father. He kind of surprised me with it when he picked it up from a field. Its pretty wasted, needs new pans, heater channels, pillars, everything. Its a pan off restoration. But this is a thread of my progress! Incase if you want to see ALL of the photos I have taken of the build, heres the link: http://s1209.photobucket.com/user/vw62kid/library/1962%20ragtop?sort=2&page=1

even the rear apron was cut off. Not too sure on the backround story, but I think they wanted a Baja...

So far we've redone the quarter panels, rear finder wells, put on the rear apron, braced the body up, and in progress of working on the pillars. so far so good!

we got the pillars in. we cut them into three pieces, one where the door actually bolts on, the inner wall, and the outer wall that leads to the front finder well.

Next, we lifted the body off the pan, and did some more metal work.

Finally found some time to work on the ragtop. Really itchin to get this thing painted. Spent some time getting it sand blast ready. Started with the driver side front fender and got it ready. Next is the Passenger side, and then work my way back.

Made some progress on the ragtop. Got one of the rear fenders ready for the blaster. One more fender to go, then the hood. After that, all the body parts will be sandblast ready and then coated in epoxy primer.

Gathering materials to coat it in epoxy primer. Going to start with the rear 2 fenders. Just a little bit of work to get the rear fender mounted good and then they're off to the blaster.
