alright - let's go Broncos! - Sadly, our local news will just have a footnote about the US men's team getting eliminated by the Dutch...

My other team is gone, let's just hope the Cup stays in Latin America.

Well done USA you put up a really good fight over a very highly rated team and gave them a real fright right up to the final whistle.

From the teams left in the competition it looks like anyone of them can beat any of the others. The most open World Cup in living memory...also means the most exciting. Very Happy

Come on the Mighty Clarets!! - Oh wait, Burnley FC's domination of the EPL starts next month...

Classy Belgium for me. Honest and hardworking team with a stand-up Manager.

Colombia played their hearts out, but the referee was wearing the Brazil shirt under the FIFA shirt.

Neymar suffers serious injury. He is out of the world cup. I hate to see him go through that.

you can thank the referee for that, who in an effort to help Brazil make it to the next round, turned a blind eye to all rough playing going against Colombia, and let the game get out of control.

Costa Rica have had an amazing tournament and have shut up a lot of countries that listed them as the weak team in the opening group. As much as I hated England being eliminated, it was cool to see CR shove themselves in the faces of ENG, ITA and URG.

Best team won tonight, but to take it to penalties with a team like Holland is pretty awesome. Applause

That would have required them to play for the win instead of just killing time the last 30 minutes of extra time hoping they would win the penalty shot shoot off. At least the Dutch were trying to win it in extra time. I don't think it will matter, I don't think either team would beat Argentina, they look better and better. I think it is shaping up to be a Germany-Argentina final now that Brazil lost Neymar and their captain is out on yellows.

I missed the games this weekend. Can't say I feel bad for Neymar - he seemed a cocky little shit from the one Brazil game that I saw. I think Germany will have it easy over over-rated Brazil, and whomever wins a tough one between Argentina/Netherlands will lose to well rested and confident Germany.
