Yep
Corn again this year. A few of us have been talking about moving away from the end of the pit at " tree island" and relocating?? We will have more in the group this year and a few Euro 4x4's, Syncros etc that will need access to the pit and back to stationary camp. |

It's a work thing. Didn't work this week so I can't afford to take time off next week.
Oh well, at least I can go to the Great Canadian VW Show this year. _________________ 89 Syncro GL Westfalia 2.1 WBX/WBXaustSS

Relocating away from Stoner's Grove ?
But agree it would be nice to free that area up a little for all to enjoy and improve access to the pits. |

You guys should take my usual spot. Bottom of the hill from the orchard, across the ditch from the main road. Shade, lots of nearby porta potties, walking distance to the pit and to the main area up top, and just enough traffic to keep it interesting.
...damn. I'm not helping myself here! _________________ 89 Syncro GL Westfalia 2.1 WBX/WBXaustSS

Where the Earthrover was posted up last year? As you go down the hill to the pit, turn left and instead of going up hill into the orchard, veer rt into the flat cul-de-sac type area? |

That's it. Usually we have a Canadian camp there. For the last three years it was my red syncro, Robyn's blue syncro and other assorted parties.
I think it's a great spot.

Thanks! I need something close to the pit for the " before Rubicon NWMF shakedown run" for the Pinzgauer and the immanent failure
Monica has her own Syncro this year so Girl Power game is strong this year between her and Kim.
Camping with "pit Boss Pete" this weekend and will try to lock down your spot. |

Longtime member, longtime lurker...maybe even my first post in 3-4+ years.
Been watching, waiting, saving for a Syncro...based in the Portland area.
I'm finally ready to purchase (knowing full well what I'm getting into). I'm hopeful there is someone in town who is willing to be a bit of a Syncro mentor before buying. I've got a VERY good idea what I've got in mind but happy to have someone to bounce questions off of before/during purchase and beyond.
I'll buy the beers...anyone got an hour or two to talk about it in person? Please PM me.
Thank you! |

Hey PDXRW what are you looking for? Camper pop top? Truck? I have a DoKa that we camp with. Tent on the ground. I can help with a diesel conversion if you decide to go in that direction. Also there are several shops here that can help.
And for those in the Portland area, I am looking for a set of used shock bump stops for my syncro. I found out that the wrong stops were being used on my DoKa. Here is a picture of the stops. I can also trade for parts if interested.
Thanks
Tony
