Does anyone have any recommendations for a good insurance company for these vehicles? I have Esurance as my daily drivers and they are giving me the run around on the super beetle. thank you. |

I'm with Nationwide.
Pretty cheap, and no hassle about having my Super. Why on earth would your company?

I had Progressive for a number of years including my wife's vehicle, my SUV and my 67 bug DD. I had full collison, on all 3 of them with no issues. They didn't even ask for pictures for my bug when I insured with them. I just recently switched to State Farm for all 3. Again full collision, However, I ended up saving about $150.00 a month by switching. I did have to include pictures of my 67, for them to determine the condition of my bug was depicted accurately for what I insured it for. _________________ 75 model 110 (Basic Bug) - Project Daily Driver |

I have $5 monthly liability insurance as a "show car" from State farm.
Something that im going to put less than 3k miles on a year.
Buuuuut.
just so happens my speedometer may be broken
I was going to go with Hagerty, but they said i MUST have a garage to keep the car in, which i dont. _________________ (Owner) www.vintagecarleds.com

I use Allstate for my 69 bug and it's $24.XX per month for full coverage. Didn't even care to look at what the value they put in was, whatever they give me I am sure I could find another 69 for the price lol. _________________ 69 bug 1600sp buckpack ceramic header w mondo muffler, riviera wheels, 185/65 front 205/70 rear, dual baby webers, big stereo in the works.

I insure two 1971 beetles with The Hartford, full coverage, no problems.
You pay based on your personal record. For me, it is about $80 a month for both, total. |

I used American Collectors insurance for my daily-driver Ghia. They aren't as restrictive as Hagerty. You can drive the car whenever you want, keep it outside, etc. It's just that it is a little more if you tell them that stuff. If you keep it in the garage and drive it less than 5000 miles a year that it will be cheap. For example I told them I wanted to insure my Ghia for $10000 (stated value policy) and I drove it less than 5000 miles a year and it was garaged and it cost $250 a year. You must pay it all up front though.
For my Westfalia I use Allstate because I so rarely drive it that it only cost me $8 a month to have it on suspended coverage. Then when I want to drive it I call my local agent and tell him. Most of the time it is just for the weekend and I call them back on Monday and tell them to re-suspend it. 90% of the time they don't even charge me for it but I know I'm covered because I have them send me an email saying I have coverage. When I asked how much it would be covered for if the worst should happen they told me to keep detailed pictures and receipts for work done, etc. and I would get the full value of what NADA says, which right now is $37,500! _________________ 1970 Pastel White Westfalia

I use Chubb for my '72 Super daily driver. No restrictions on mileage, although they expect it to be garaged...but don't enforce that. They insure it full for agreed-to-value. NADA came in handy for that.
For those who use Allstate, does it require that the car be garaged? And how did Allstate determine the value in case of a loss? _________________ Eventually, "we are what we pretend to be.’”

Since you have other vehicles you could insure your 71 as an antique. _________________ 1971 Super Beetle Sedan Stock

??? We have Geico on our modern cars, but the only thing they would do for my old '64 Bug was liability. Not a thing more. _________________ Eventually, "we are what we pretend to be.’”

The lowest my insurance will ever be is $80 a month if it is a DD (15 years perfect driving discounts). Collectors insurance is like $200 a year but you can only drive from april-october dawn till dusk, no commuting, etc.
BC has mandatory government insurance which makes regular cars cheaper and classics more expensive, and we have no options. The other disadvantage is for collision you only get whatever ICBC decides your car is worth (aka jack squat) _________________ 1972 Super Beetle, Parked until adequate restoration funding is acquired in restoration!

I pay 180$ every 6 months for minimum insurance and im 21. I dont think my CDL gave me any discounts or anything. And they consider it worth 5,000$ if someone hits me. Its a 900$ bug that i named the ugly bug. My co worker said "its so ugly that its cute". I have never had to have an insurance company inspect my car or see pictures |

Hagerty does not insure if you use this as a daily driver vehicle. The other thing is for ever person in the household that has a driver's license they must have a primary car, then the Beetle is the secondary occasional use car.
Just got off the phone with them. |

Chubb will insure your ACVW as a daily driver, but not if you're younger than 25 y/o. My 18 y/o son was very disappointed. _________________ Eventually, "we are what we pretend to be.’”
