My mk1 has had this problem before I just push the shaft back in after it got loose and the worm gear couldn't contact the gear to turn it. I just fix it yesterday and get in my car today and head to work and I notice it stopped turning again. There is no doubt in my mind that its the same problem. How do I keep the shaft in there so it doesn't come out again.

A quick question about the triple guages in the center console Iknow one is the electrical meter one has a temp reading but have no clue what the third is.

Thanks guys

I recommend just changing out the entire gauge cluster if you continue to have problems. There are plenty for sale out there and it's a fairly easy swap.

About your second Q -- Does it say "Bar" with single digit increments on it? It's an oil pressure gauge.

Yeah it says bar in single digit numbers that means I no longer need a oil pressure gauge.

Are you sure there isn'ta fix for it

Thanks for the help fixed it yesterday. But accidentally broke my speedo needle Crying or Very sad but glued it back together and had to reinforce it with part of a zip tie until I can get a new one.
