Your guess is as good as mine, I was told it belonged to a lawyer. Looks like he rally'd it, mechanically it's very nice, rust free too!!! |

Now, THAT'S patina!
Seriously, that looks like a pretty solid car. Another one brought out into the light

This car gives me hope for my project.
Good luck with your project, my friend, and welcome to the club: There will be many a day when you will doubt your own sanity, but one small step at a time may give you some solace. _________________ Festina lente - hasten slowly

Welcome to the club man! Good luck on the long and sometimes very frustrating road ahead. When the work has got you down just always remember to maybe focus on many small things than trying to tackle the one big thing. |

Nice find. Isn't it fun pulling them out and discovering what's in them?
Is it really a convertible or did someone hack the roof off it? |

Bet you it's rust free or almost. And that is most of the battle

The 2x4 bumper is a nice touch and goes right along with the rally car theme. |

I have no idea why, but when I think of "barn fresh find" the picture in my mind's eye is a near perfect car with a heavy layer of dust covering the outside - no spider webs, no bird shit, and no rodent or raccoon droppings or chewing damage.
Thanks for clarifying that notion for me.
As previously mentioned (several times, I think), your new Ghia does indeed look to be fairly rust free and that is a very, very good thing.
Hopefully most of the bits and pieces are all there as I believe the 1960 model year either has the largest number of one-year-only parts, or it is the most difficult model year to find all the correct pieces for (or perhaps even both).
But then either of those conditions would only really matter if you are OCD about everything being stock and correct - otherwise you should be able to find plenty of parts that will fit and function just fine.
Good luck with the project and keep us posted on your progress. |

Quit being so nice, Daryl---------just tell the guy that he has a total piece of crap there.
But for a mere $3300 it can be yours.

Red -- -- If you're needing one less project, let me know and I'll cart off the old Ford POS you've got setting there -- defiantly free up a lot of space for you to work on the Ghia LOL _________________ Remember, as you travel the highway of life,

If you split that front bumper, I'll buy the righthand cast bumper guard as long if doesn't crack during removal. _________________ It's not about the window, it's about the people.
