hhhmmmm, let's see kid in the front seat, no child seat, circa about 1966, bet mom smoked & drank while pregnant, probably let the kids run behind the bug spray fog truck that rolled past in summer as well. |

Judging from the high angle of the photo, relative shallow depth of field despite adequate light, and a slight softness of the subject, I must conclude that the photographer was standing atop a mailbox, holding on to a signpost and focusing his Rolleiflex with 75mm lens one-handed.

30-40 years ago when drivers actually paid attention to the road and where they are going yes it is perfectly safe
today- when the dumbass behind the wheel is too busy taking "selfies" to realize the car is even moving then no nothing and no one is safe _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

The redheaded kid chewing on the dash handle matches the danger level of a pompadour-wearing cat struttin' the sidewalk in white pants- after Labor Day!
