I'm planning on getting a 63-69 Beetle and looking to get a Chevrolet engine, preferably 4-cylinder, that is easily adaptable to fit one. |

Check here . . . http://www.kennedyenginc.com/Pages/EngineOptionList4cyl.aspx
Expect to do some body modifications to the Beetle and, depending on the power output of your chosen engine, the VW transaxle could use some "beefing-up". _________________ Jesucristo es mi Seņor y Salvador! |

I'm curious why... I'm all for good mods, I have a Chevy motor in my Toyota, but wondering why you want a Chebby in your VW. A turbo Corvair might be cool in the Bug! _________________ Stock'ish 1968 Beetle |

I say go crazy, run a fuel injected type 3 (keeps you from having to cut a hole in the hood for the upright fan housing). _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

sold as a Chevy was it not? & I believe partially owned by GM (It was during the 70's LUV truck days). In my book a whole lot more interesting concept, but I get that's probably not the op's intended point. But if you insist dump the Chevy - drop an old Rabbit diesel in it. |

I bought a New Beetle with a crap 2.0 engine and am looking to do just that...stick a diesel in it...any thoughts on this? Anyone? I know that they were sold with the TDI engine but I want to go on the cheap...Rabbit engine that I already have or Isuzu, Nissan, I have those engines too. |
