I bought this bus last year, its been in the back yard waiting its turn, It was damaged during delivery so while fighting with the insurance company a flip seat westy popped up on the samba so I bought it and focused on making it a daily driver, So now onto the 21, its rusty, smelly and needs some work, I have been acquiring parts for a year now. its going to take some time for sure

the flip seat came with a rebuilt 1776 I swapped it out with a rebuilt 1600, so the 1776 is going in the 21, picked up a benco freeway flyer last year at SAC BOR, got a set of fuchs 16's in the back 15' up front, spring plates from wagens west, trying to decide on who's safari's to buy, got the belly pans from grumpys metal ( thanks john ) for the good deal, been picking up OG interior panels, plan to make a sano camper interior in the back, just a place to crash at the shows

Great bus to start out with.

Those 21's are picking up value FAST.

Looks like a resonable project to todays standards.

Why did you buy all the interior panels if you're going with a camper interior? Are you looking a a Mosaik-ish bench setup?

ordered a 4 inch narrow beam from wagenswest, All 4 tires hold air now, so now easy to get in and out of the garage, picked out the best deluxe trim I had and just put it up temporary, hub caps and front emblem on temporary, put wood on the cargo floor to use as storage for the parts, Ive been stripping the paint back to OG around the windows and rear hatch, got the pop out hinges free now, I noticed yesterday it had the clock in it, that will save 200 bucks

No more pics of it, I took the og seat hardware and just made the platform wider, used either 3 or 4 supports for the bed when it is opened rather than just 2 supports as the bed is wider now, vinly was from walmart and I got the foam from a surplus place and just cut to fit, had a friend sew the corners as it takes a commercial machine to get through that material

Looking good there Jon! Looks like your welding skills will get some practice! The more you keep doing to this bus, the sweeter it will be.

What type of bench seat did you start with? A typical z bed?? Can you show more pics of the bench and how it's supported underneath?
