2K (2pack) over existing paint

Hi

I'm trying to save a few dollars on paiting my van, the paint there is in OK condition, Ive rubbed it back with 600's all over, I know i should prime it first but could I go straight over with 2 pack?

How important is it that this NOT go wrong?

I have put 2-pak over good paint on several cars with success

Its my own Van so not important if it does go wrong... I did sand 2 of the panels back to bare metal so I'll etch these first.
