Buy cheap, get cheap.

Ever have a fan explode? I have and its not cheap to fix all the damage.

I'd only buy a OE welded fan. The question is "who welded it and was it balanced after".

Depends on if your fan shroud is a Dog-House which uses the 35mm ID fans. the 32mm ID fans are for the non-Dog-house fan shrouds and would not cool as well if used in the Dog House fan shroud. If you go with the cheap one let us know if it holds up (it should be ok if you never rev above 4500 Rpm. What happens is you reach back there (engine off of course) after a few hi rev up's and find that a vain is missing. Probably laying on the flaps jamming them from operating normally.

Vincent, Spend the extra money buy the welded fan also buy a new washer. After you get it all together and the nut tight a quick tack weld will keep it in place and can be ground off if you should need to change it someday. As many miles as you drive it will be one less thing to worry about.

Buy your fan from Gene Berg. I have been running a Berg fan in my sandrail for 25+ years and in my Manx for 10 years. Never a problem.

vincent

With the RPMs you run on your buggy and hte amount of traveling you do, I would also recommend the welded and balanced fan.
The suggestion to purchase a new flange and other components. If the fan wallowed out, the mounting flange is likely messed up as well.

I have had the same thing happen to a fan on an engine before. Time and high revs seem to take their toll on old components.

Thanks for all the feedback. Let me be clear, I want to buy the best available from CIP1. I'm not interested in saving a few $ on this item. I do have a doghouse shroud.

The question is which is better:

No one makes a better fan than the OEM. Get the welded OE and balanced fan.

Done, thanks Joe!

Also ordered new spindles in hope that it's going to fix my wheel bearing issues. I think they are bad again.

We'll get a list of things to work on for MOTB.
