1500 heads on 40hp big bore?

Can you slap a pair of 1500 single port heads on a big bore 40hp build? I keep finding them but only have one 1300 in my collection. They are very similar aren't they?

They are similar in the way that all vw heads are similar. But 1500 heads will not work because the cylinder bore at the heads is larger. The same size as what is on a 1600 head. You can only use 40hp or 1300 heads. The part number usually starts with 373.
