Hi Guys,
Anticipating my new engine rebuild and want to run it in car but still have shell off.
Apart from providing a temporary fuel supply would it be easy to wire up to a pod and starter switch?
Anyone done this before and has good tips |

Trivial - all you need is a single pole double throw switch. One side from battery to starter and coil and the other side to coil only. Once it starts, flip the switch quick to the other position. You also should connect a bulb to the alternator or generator lead for the idiot light so it will charge the battery. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

I came up with this setup a few years ago on my first body off. Another way is if you have a remote starter switch. I bought one at a yard sale and am using it on the current project. Just to recap - hot from battery to center lug of switch. One side of switch to solenoid (assuming you have the big wire already to the starter) and also to coil. Other side of switch to coil only. I use internally regulated alternators, so I run a wire from the small connection to a 12V bulb and the other end of the wire to the hot on the battery. I manually have to connect and disconnect this when I run or shut off the car.
This is one of those homemade tools that you end up using quite a bit, so hang it on the wall when you are done. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.
