I have noticed a good many headlights are mounted off center on the fender.
That would solve a problem for me as my front amber turn signals are crap.

My question is... what are the measurements on where precisely to install them? Mine are mounted where the surface beetle turn signal needs to go.

From what I have seen many Manx style buggies have an obvious headlight mounting point on the fender right beside the hood. If you do not have that you would likely need to build something similar to have the headlight mounted firmly above the hood/fenders.

Here is the mounting point on my Rascal body.

An option.. use headlights with a portion built in for turn signals...
Not the best idea for turn visibility with the headlights light on... but they combine two units into one neat package.

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/ ... search headlights..

If you want to move the lights.. and dont have the molded in "pod mounts"
Buy cut down (chopped) 33-34 Ford Headlight stands and bolt them on..

They come in chrome or basic black...

Those Ford mounts don't look to be the correct angle?

You simply attach the Ford headlight mounts to the body at the best angle that suits the pod lights you plan to use to create as close to a horizontal lamp base as possible.
Keep in mind. Most pod lights have a base that pivots as well which allows them to mounted at many angles.

Drill and add a second smaller upper bolt hole to the base help secure.

These have a little more flange meat.. (my preference).

Called "Shorty Ford Headlight Stands"
